Detailed notes
    - Effects of mechanical switched capacitors to the harmonic distortion level were studied in this paper. Moreover, this paper proposes an optimal design method to satisfy the requirements of Harmonic suppressing and reactive power compensation while designing Hybrid Active Power Filter (HAPF). The researches focused on an industrial case involving harmonic distortion and low power factor problems. An effective strategy was developed to observe behaviour of compensation capacitors and passive filters placement with Active Power Filter (APF). A practical implementation was developed for the purpose of problem identifications of filter planning. Then the simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness for the conventional reactive power compensation system with an APF in a distribution system. As a result, the total harmonic distortion and reactive power measurements are analyzed and tabulated.
